Where do I start? I have been pretty busy this past month. I suppose I should start off with The Huffington Post.
The 6th of February I was contacted by the photo editor of The Huffington Post, he said that they wanted to use one of my photos in an article they were writing about couples yoga for Valentines Day. When I read that email I was overwhelmed with joy knowing that a publication as big as The Huffington Post wanted to use a photo of mine.
Shoot with April
After about a month of emailing back and forth we were finally able to get a date set for our photo shoot. I had been looking forward to this shoot because as much as I like shooting Rolex watches, it can become monotonous. I felt good about the shots I captured during this shoot, and was glad to hear from April that she loved them.
So for a few months now I have been working out details for some personal work I want to shoot. For this series I am going to photograph I knew that I wanted to have some explosions in the images so I started doing some research on different techniques I could use to create a fake explosion.
I came across one technique that I really thought was a cool idea, so I decided to try it out. After a quick trip to the hardware store I had the materials needed to build an air tank that would be used to create a plume of fire. After building this and doing a few tests it was ready to be used. This photo is just a test shot of what my new toy can do. So keep an eye out for the series to get released sometime this summer.
